In the end we opted for a more centered almost "boring" composition as we decided there was enough going on in the dragon that the story his interaction with the king was best kept super centered and simple. Esp in the context of a "poster"

We found out mid-stream that we were creating a Dragon not a Wyvern (look it up nerds;) -- and so he NEEDED arms. It was a nightmare to figure out what to do with the extra appendages (Game of Thrones has a Wyvern)

Lots can be done at the end with more simple fogging and toning down everything you instinctively Do NOT want to tone down, esp the contrast of the dragon, but doing so adds scale and depth. the trade off worth it in our eyes.
